Christine Tellez, MS, RDN, LD has been practicing as a dietitian since 2012. She obtained her Master’s in Dietetics and Nutrition from Florida International University. After graduation, Christine entered FIU’s accredited internship where she completed her clinical and long-term care rotations at the Miami Veteran’s Affairs Hospital and her food service rotation at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center.
Since becoming a registered dietitian, she has worked at Florida International University providing nutrition counseling and education to students and other community members. Additionally, she supervises nutrition students in the dietetics and nutrition program that volunteer alongside her.
Christine takes a non-diet approach to nutrition. In 2016, she completed an Intuitive Eating (IE) training with the co-creator of IE, Evelyn Tribole. Christine believes that food should nourish both the body and mind, and enjoys applying her nutrition knowledge to helping others regain a healthy relationship with food.
Her areas of interest and expertise include eating disorders; weight concerns; healthy eating; women’s nutrition; adolescent nutrition; and GI issues, such as IBS and celiac disease. Christine is bilingual (Spanish) and practices comfortably in both languages.
In her spare time, Christine enjoys reading fiction, exercising mindfully, learning to use her new pressure cooker, and spending time with her two children.
